Homeowners

Find a builder who actually suits your project.

We verify licence, insurance and ABN, check references and confirm capacity before we introduce anyone. It costs you nothing.

What we do.

You tell us about your project — where it is, what you're building, roughly what you want to spend and how far along the plans are.

We find a builder who suits it: the right type of work, the right area, the right budget, and who can start around when you want to start. We introduce the two of you, and from there you deal with the builder directly. Your building contract is with them, not with us.

What we check first.

Licence
Builder licence number and the state it's issued in, plus the entity name as it appears on the licence.
Insurance
Public liability and contract works insurance details.
References
We ask for references and speak to people the builder has built for before we introduce anyone.
Capacity
Whether they can actually start when you want to start.
Fit
Whether they build your type of project, in your area, at your budget.

How we're paid

The builder pays us a fee for a project we introduce. It costs you nothing. We verify the builder's licence, insurance and ABN, and we check references before we introduce anyone — and if the builder we suggest isn't right for you, we'll tell you.

Common questions.

What does it cost me?
Nothing. The builder pays us a fee for the introduction, and a commission on ready-to-go jobs when a project goes to contract. Architects, building designers and homeowners are not charged.
How many builders will I be introduced to?
For a documented project we control the shortlist — usually one builder, sometimes two or three so you have a comparison. We always tell you how many, and if a builder isn't right for you, tell us and we'll look again.
What do you check before introducing a builder?
We collect and check the builder's licence number and state, ABN, entity name and insurance details, and we check references. We also ask about current capacity so you are not waiting on a builder who is booked out.
Who holds the building contract?
You and the builder. We introduce the two of you; we are not a party to your building contract.
